Before wisdom teeth can negatively impact your oral health, get them removed at Pueblo West Neighborhood Dental and Implants. When many patients hear “oral surgeon” or “extractions” they can’t help but worry. We do everything we can to alleviate your anxiety from designing our office to feel like home to offering nitrous oxide and oral sedation dentistry. If you’d like Dr. Ross to do your surgery while you are completely asleep, we are happy to arrange the procedure at a separate outpatient facility with a dental anesthesiologist.

Wisdom teeth are the final set of permanent teeth patients get and can be found behind molars. Whether or not they erupt through the gum, they can crowd the jawbone causing other teeth to shift and altering a patient’s bite. They may put excessive pressure on surrounding teeth resulting in toothaches, jaw pain, and even damage to teeth with high frequency.
Our dentist will provide you with options for anesthesia before extracting wisdom teeth. Local anesthesia numbs the affected area where wisdom teeth are located so that patients won’t feel pain but remain conscious during the procedure. If you would prefer not to be awake, IV sedation can be administered at another facility with Dr. Ross or with one of our wonderful, local oral surgeons.
