DENTAL VENEERS

Dental veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are adhered to the entire front surface of a tooth to give it a clean, smooth and aesthetically pleasing look. Bonding is generally used as a filling material for cavities or to repair small chips. Crowns are protective caps that look like natural teeth that are placed over damaged, broken or decayed teeth.

After an initial consultation, it usually only takes two visits to get your porcelain veneers fitted. During the first visit, your teeth will be prepped for their new veneers by removing a thin layer of enamel. Temporary veneers are placed to protect your teeth and so you can get a feel of what to expect when your permanent ones are placed. Your veneers will then be custom made ready for your next appointment. When you come back for the second visit, your veneers will be attached using a dental adhesive. The whole process takes around 3 weeks.

The cost of veneers depends on whether you get one or multiple veneers. As it’s considered a cosmetic procedure, it may not be covered by your dental insurance but please contact your provider directly for more information.
